sow at centennial farm

More info: Centennial Farm is a three-acre working farm at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, California.

The farm was created to educate youth about agriculture and its importance to daily life. Centennial Farm is home to fruit and vegetable gardens, livestock, and the Millennium Barn. Two youth educational tour programs are offered – Discovery Days and Junior Farmer Tours – as well as year-round daily hours so the public can visit the farm.

As pigs can be bred year-round, there is almost always a litter of piglets at Centennial Farm. There are three farrowing pens which is where the sows are housed prior to giving birth and when raising their piglets. The pens are specially designed to be able to provide a comfortable environment for the sow with added safety measures for the small piglets.
