LIVE WEBCAM AT A BEE APAIRY

  • Local Time
  • Location: Deerfield Beach, Broward County, Florida
  • Source: City of Deerfield Beach
  • Info: Live webcam with bees at an apiary in Deerfield Beach in Florida. The bee apiary is located at Central City Campus. The bees are most active at dawn when they leave the hive to start their pollen collection and at dusk when they return with their harvest.

More info: Returning to the hive, bees will typically be loaded with their harvest of the day. Pollen is gathered in “pollen baskets” located on both rear legs - seen as yellow, orange or red puffs.

One of the largest threats to bees is a lack of safe habitat where they can build homes and find a variety of nutritious food sources. By planting a bee garden, you can create a habitat corridor with plants that are rich in pollen and nectar. You don’t need a ton of space to grow bee-friendly plants — gardens can be established across yards & in window boxes, flower pots, & planters.
