In the wild, Asian small-clawed otters are in areas of India, Southeast Asia, the Philippines, Taiwan and southern China. They live in a variety of wetland habitats, such as lakes, streams and rivers, coastal wetlands, marshes, mangroves and rice fields.
Melbourne Zoo is located within Royal Park in Parkville, approximately 4 kilometres north Melbourne city and is home to more than 320 animal species from Australia and around the world
