More info: The pygmy hippopotamus or pygmy hippo is a small hippopotamid which is native to West Africa where it lives in swampos and forests. There are less than 2500 pygmy hippos left in the wild. The common or river hippo weighs about 10 times as much as a pygmy hippo and has much shorter limbs. The pygny hippo’s feet are less webbed than their cousins’, because they spend more time on land than in water.
