Due to the devastating effects of poaching which left behind young, defenceless orphaned calves, a highly specialised care facility was developed to support the conservation efforts to save the rhinos from extinction.
The vision of Care for Wild is the conservation of viable Black and White Rhino breeding populations in protected areas through community involvement and the integration of sustainable solutions.
As well as the rescue and rehabilitation of young, orphaned rhino calves, Care for Wild Rhino Sanctuary provides rescue, treatment, care and protection of older rhinos. The adult rhino treatment and care facility can accommodate rhinos of all sizes, ages, injuries, and needs.
