LIVE WEBCAM AT THE MOKUPAPAPA DISCOVERY CENTRE

More info: The Mokupapapa Discovery Center (MDC) in Hilo, Hawaii, was established in 2003 to showcase the natural science, culture and history of the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands and surrounding marine environment.

The Center is located in Hilo’s historic, century old Koehnen Building and features a 3,500 gallon saltwater aquarium with endemic fish from Papahanaumokuakea and the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands in the Pacific Ocean. Some of these species of fish are found nowhere else in the world.

As well as the aquarium, MDC also has interactive educational exhibits, lifesize models of wildlife found in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands, artwork inspired by those islands and Hawaiian culture, and many interpretive panels in both Hawaiian and English.
