This underwater webcam is located in a restricted area at a fixed dock in the shallow waters of the Lower Keys.

The Lower Florida Keys form the southern and western portion of the Florida Keys island chain. They begin immediately southwest of the Seven Mile Bridge (starting around Mile Marker 40) and stretch down to Stock Island and Key West (Mile Marker 0) situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. The largest island of the Lower Keys, is Big Pine Key which is famous for the National Key Deer Refuge. The Key deer is the smallest subspecies of white-tailed deer.

The Florida Keys coral reef is the only coral barrier reef in North America and extends approximately 220 miles offshore from North Key Largo to the Dry Tortugas and is part of the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary. The unique ecosystem supports pver 80 species of corals and 600 species of fish, including both commercially important and tropical species.
