- Info: Live streaming stork webcam at BirdMania Birdpark and Wildlife Rescue Station in Hungary. The male stork called Macus is a permanent injured male stork, who has lived at the rescue station since 2016. Another webcam shows rescued storks in the indoor enclosure.
More info: The oldest known wild stork has been registered to have lived for 39 years after being monitored and ‘ringed’ in Switzerland. Captive birds can live up to 35 years. Regrettably a common cause of death to storks and other birds relates to human errors due to electrocution and general litter.
When storks migrate north for breeding, the journey takes around 50 days with the dangers of dehydration, hunger, as well as in some cases, being shot at.
