- Info: Live streaming raccoon webcam at Anne's Raccoon Cafe in the United States. A raccoon, named Anne by the owners of this property, gave birth on their porch and was given food for herself and her kits. It seems word got around and now there are lots of raccoon visitors as well as opossums, squirrels and other critters.
More info: Raccoons are primarily crepuscular (active at dawn and dusk) and nocturnal (active at night) but it is not unusual to see them out in the day in an urban environment.
Raccoons have a highly developed sense of touch considered to be superior to other non-primate mammals. This helps them to easily unlock doors and get into trash cans and other mischief. They have a keen sense of hearing and visual acuity consistent with their nocturnal habits.
Raccoons are excellent climbers and are one of the few mammals that can descend vertical tree trunks headfirst. They are also strong swimmers and can easily cross rivers and lakes, but only venture into deep water to escape from trouble
