More info: There is a clinic in the Palestinian city of Nablus as well as a mobile clinic which treats around 500 working donkeys, mules and horses a month. Common injuries such as those from poor harnessing, overgrown hooves and bad teeth are easily treatable and go a long way in improving the lives of the animals.

The aim of Safe Haven for Donkeys in helping working donkeys and horses is to provide treatment to relieve pain and suffering and education to prevent those injuries and illnesses reoccurring.

Safe Haven’s sanctuary is in the village of Gan Yoshiyya in Israel, about 23 miles (37km) north east of Tel Aviv and 1.5 miles (2.5 km) from the border with the Palestinian Territories.
