Local info: The Kentucky Equine Adoption Centre is not a sanctuary but aims to find the perfect place to re-home the horses - from high level dressage horses, to therapeutic equine companions, from trail horses to pasture ponies. The Centre aims to provide humane treatment and shelter while seeking adoptive homes and providing second chances for Kentucky's equines, regardless of breed.

The Kentucky Equine Adoption Centre aims to educate the public and raise awareness for responsible equine ownership so that fewer horses end up in crisis. Set on 72 acres of rolling hills in Jessamine County, the Kentucky Equine Adoption Center is the home and training ground for approximately 50 equines at all stages of rehabilitation and retraining.

The founders of the Center wanted it to be a place where all breeds of horses were accepted, so that no horse would be excluded from the chance at a new life. To this day, any kind of equine is accepted – miniature horses, donkeys, mules and horses. In the 14 years the KyEAC has operated, more than 1,000 horses have been rescued and re-homed.
