King cobras can reach 18 feet in length, making them the longest of all venomous snakes. One of the most venomous snakes on the planet, the king cobra can literally "stand up" and look a full-grown person in the eye. Fortunately, king cobras are shy and will avoid humans whenever possible.

A single bite can deliver up to two-tenths of a fluid ounce which is enough to kill 20 people, or even an elephant.
