It is a fully accredited university that offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in canine-related businesses, human-canine relationships, dog training and partnerships involving assistance dog.

The vision of Dr. Bergin (founder of the Bergin University) is to increase the understanding of the “human-dog bond”. The school has the philosophy that they are “helping dogs help people” as the only institution that offers degrees in canine studies.

Bergin University offers two associate degrees, a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree program. In addition, students may earn a certificate of completion by finishing one of the short-term training programs or seminars. Continuing education is also offered for students that are already working within the field of canine studies.
