Info: Live goose nest webcam at Decorah in Iowa. The Canada geese shown are nesting in an old bald eagle nest which is near the Decorah Fish Hatchery. Generally, the geese arrive late February or early March and begin egg laing mid to late March.

More info: The goslings start to hatch around 33 days after the first egg is laid. They nest is about 70 feet high and the goslings will jump to the ground, 24 to 48 hours after the first egg hatches.

It is not unusual for Canada geese to take up residence in old bald eagle nests as they are opportunistic in finding a nesting site and feel it is safe from ground dwelling predators like foxes.
