The webcam is operated by the state forest management center, the RMK, on whose land the goshawks have nested. The birds have nested there now for 2 seasons.

More Info: The Northern Goshawk is an accipiter - a type of hawk with short, broad wings and a long rudderlike tail that gives the bird excellent agility in the air.

Goshawks hunt inside the forest or along its edge; they take their prey by putting on short bursts of amazingly fast flight, often twisting among branches and crashing through thickets in their eagerness of a successful pursuit.
