This webcam is part of a network of webcams that the LIFE Eurokite project has installed, to raise awareness and bring the red kite and other wildlife species closer to the public.
More info: This red kite project aims to detect threats to the red kite in Europe using GPS technology and minimize the impact of these threats on this species.
The project is coordinated by the Austrian organization MEGEG (Mitteleuropäische Gesellschaft zur Erhaltung der Greifvögel – Central European Society for the Protection of Birds of Prey) and AMUS-Acción por el Mundo Salvaje (Action for the Wild World) participates, among other actions. Among other activities, AMUS-Acción por el Mundo Salvaje is responsible for identifying red kite mortality in Extremadura, Andalusia, and mainland Portugal, as well as reinforcing the red kite population in southwestern Spain.
