White tailed eagles in Latvia generally nest near water such as reservoirs and coastal areas, as their diet consists of fish and waterfowl. As their number increases, they are exploring new areas and more often nest further away from water and move inland.
White-tailed eagles winter in Latvia and stay in the nesting area all year round.
