More info: Puffins are on Skomer Island from April to late July, with the highest numbers present from June to mid-July.
Puffins nest in burrows and many of those on Skomer Island were originally made by the large rabbit population, who form a significant part of the island's ecosystem, grazing and influencing the vegetation.
