Info: Ol Donyo Lodge is located on the private Mbirikani Group Ranch, in the Chyulu Hills area of southeast Kenya. Chyulu is an area of beautiful upland scenery which lies between two of Kenya's national parks - Tsavo East and Amboseli. Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, provides an incredible backdrop on clear days.

The core upland areas, which form the bulk of the national park, comprise mainly of dome topped hills which are in part covered by patches of open acacia woodlands and dense forests.

Wildlife present includes Giraffe, zebra, huge numbers of antelopes, cheetah, lion and big tusker elephants. The birdlife is varied, with both plains and montane species resident and also present are rare grey crowned crane.

Ol Donyo Lodge offers a great variety of activities. Early morning and late afternoon safari game drives, guided bushwalks, dining in the wildlife filled plains, hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, tracking, conservation and community out-reach programs and wildlife viewing in an open air hide near waterholes. It is possible to visit the volcanic caverns of the Chyulu Hills to explore the world’s second longest underground lava tube.

The Mbirikani Group Ranch is mainly a conservation area protected as a game corridor by the Big Life Foundation and Great Plains Conservation. This corridor is important for the safe passage of wildlife between Tsavo and Amboseli National Parks. The Masai in this area use the land for grazing their cattle.
