Info: Serengeti National Park is Located in northern Tanzania and stretches over 14,763 km2 (5,700 sq mi) It is located in eastern Mara Region and northeastern Simiyu Region.

Serengeti National Park is home to over 2 million ungulates as well as the largest population of lions in Africa and is known for its massive anual migration of zebra and wilderbeest as they move to fresh grazing grounds. The crossing of the crocodile infested Grumeti River is particularly striking and many animals, especially the weak and young, succumb to the waiting crocs.

Serengeti National Park is home to a wide variety of animals, including the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and buffalo) and plains game including plains zebra, lesser kudu, Thomson's Gazelle and giraffe as well as small mammals such as the large spotted genet, banded mongoose, striped hyena, African wildcat and serval.

The landscape of the Serengeti is diverse, ranging from vast open grasslands and savannahs to hilly woodlands, riverine forests, and áreas of kopjes (rocky outcrops). Serengeti has two rainy seasons: the long rains from March to May and the short rains from November to December, with April generally bein gthe wettest month.
