Peregrines are now increasingly seen in urban centres thanks to tall buildings and an abundance of prey, including pigeons. Birds are the main staple of a peregrine falcon's diet. Pigeons are their favourite prey, but they will also hunt a range of other species particularly starlings, blackbirds and collared doves, depending upon their availability. They will often catch them in flight.
