Info: Live streaming webcam at a wood pigeon nest in Germany. The wood pigeon is a familiar bird of gardens, parks, woodlands and farmlands. Wood pigeons have a mostly blue-grey colouration with white wing patches, a pink chest and a characteristic white neck patch.

More info: Wood pigeons breed from April to September. They nest on hedges or in trees and normally lay two white, smooth, slightly shiny eggs. Both the male and female incubate the eggs though the major part is carried out by the female. The young pigeons are called squabs and are fed on a secretion from the crop known as ‘pigeon’s milk’.

Wood pigeons eat plant matter, seeds, leaves, fruit, berries, nuts and flowers. They will occasionally eat worms and insects.
