- Info: Live nesting robin webcam in France. The robin shown is inside a nest box in Seine-Port. Robins are very distinctive with their bright orangey face and breast. Robins will readily take to a suitable nest box of the 'open-fronted' design.
Robins lay eggs from March to the end of July. The female is able to incubate the eggs of one family while the male feeds the chicks of the other. Despite thier cute appearance, male robins are very aggressive in defending their territory and are quick to fight off intruders.
Egg incubation is carried out by the female for 13 days. When the chicks hatch they are naked and completely dependant upon the adults for warmth and food. Robins generally have two broods a year. Three successful broods a year is not uncommon, and in a good year even four are possible.
