    Denmark has 55 species of mammals which live and breed there. Roe deer, occupy the countryside in growing numbers, and large-antlered red deer can be found in the forests of Jutland. The country is home to smaller mammals, such as hares, otter, fox weasel, badger and hedgehogs. Birds are abundant, numbering more than 300 species including passerines, wading birds, birds of prey, ducks and swans and Storks are common Summer residents.
